SPECIAL TERMS OF SERVICE OF MAJJAM (BY OPUS MAJOR) – PLAYTESTS
Latest update: 17/03/2026
Hey you! Before joining our playtest sessions, please read the following carefully. This is where we explain the rules specifically applying to you and other players when you have been admitted to playtests of Majjam. General rules about Majjam also apply to you, you can read them here. If you have any questions, you can write to us at contact@opusmajor.io.
1. What is it about?
Majjam, a video game that can be downloaded from the www.majjam.com website (hereinafter the “Game” and the “Website”) is published by Opus Major, a simplified joint stock company with its registered office at 15 rue des Halles, Paris (75001), registered with the Paris Trade and Companies Register under SIREN number 922 671 268, with an intra-community VAT number FR88922671268, which also publishes the Website.
In order to improve, supplement and enhance the Game before its official release, we are launching playtest sessions (the “Playtests”).
Henceforth, these Special Terms of Service for these purposes (the “StoS Playtests”) define the conditions under which:
- you can apply to and participate in the Playtests
- and we select the adequate Players for the closed Playtests.
These StoS Playtests are a supplement of the general Terms of Services of the Game (“ToS”) available here, which means they apply to you in addition to the Terms of Services of the Game. You also agree to comply with rules and instructions issued by Opus Major, at all times, while participating in the Playtests.
Words beginning with a capital not defined here are defined in the ToS.
Majjam is suitable for players aged 13 and over. If you are a minor in your country of residence, please read the Contract with the help of your parent or your guardian. All use of the Service and the Game by minors is the responsibility of their parents and legal guardians. As far as is permitted by law, we accept no responsibility regarding activities which may be conducted by minors without the permission of their parents or legal guardians.
2. How do I join the Playtests?
2.1. How do I apply to the Playtests and create an account?
To apply to the Playtests, you must create an Account. By doing so, you will join our community of applicant players among which we select the adequate people for each Playtest.
Please read the ToS to find out the conditions to open the Account.
2.2. How do we select the players for the Playtests?
We may organize two types of Playtests.
2.2.1. Open Playtests
We may launch open Playtests, which means that everyone can participate in the Playtest.
When the Playtest begins, we will send all applicants an invitation email inviting them to participate in the Playtest and to create an Account (if not already done – for our very first applicants).
2.2.2. Closed Playtests
We may also organize closed Playtests, which means that a limited number of players are shortlisted to participate in the Playtest.
In the context of closed Playtests, we reserve the right to select testers according to our own criteria and at our own discretion to the extent permitted by applicable laws.
When you are an applicant player, we can make several decisions among the following for each closed Playtest session:
- you are selected to take part in the Playtest. In this case, you receive an email from us inviting you to participate in the Playtest and to create an Account (if not already done – for our very first applicants);
- we need to obtain more information about you and send you an additional questionnaire to the email attached to your Account or that you provided us. Once you have completed this questionnaire, we will consider again your application for the Playtest in question;
- you are not selected to take part in the Playtest.
We do not guarantee access, or even priority access, to applicants players.
You are not entitled to any compensation or recourse if you are not selected for a Playtest.
2.3. Can I transfer my Account?
As provided in the ToS, your Account is strictly personal and cannot be transferred. You agree that it is especially important for your participation in the Playtest.
Any unauthorized transfer of Account may lead to all of the measures described at Article 10 of the ToS, as well as to:
- the prohibition to be selected for and participate to any further Playtests, whether open or closed;
- the prohibition to enter into a new Contract with us and to access the publicly released version of the Game.
2.4. How long can I keep my account?
Unless you close it or we close it according to the ToS, your Account will remain open after the Playtests, so you can access the public version of the Game.
Notwithstanding the ToS, we reserve the right to close your Account at any time before, during and after Playtests until the final version of the Game is released.
3. What can I expect in terms of availability and security?
When you are playing the Game in a Playtest, you are playing a game that is still under development and may even be incomplete.
Also, regular and unscheduled wipes of player progression and/or saved games may occur at any time, at our sole discretion. We make no guarantees about the persistence or availability of player progression or inventory items at any time during the Playtests and assume no liability for lost or deleted account data, including character data.
You accept that your progression in the Game and any status or value indicators you achieve through the Playtest may be deleted by us at any time, including, without limitation, upon the end of the Playtest and may not be transferred, in whole or in part, over to the publicly released version of the Game.
Access to the Playtests will be temporary (e.g. a few days).
You expressly accept that:
- the Playtest may be subject to periods of interruption or unavailability. We shall have no obligation to take any measures to correct or otherwise address or remedy the reasons for such interruptions or unavailability.
- we may terminate your access to the Game at any time, even when that access was originally planned for a longer period, without having to communicate the reason or respect any notice period.
4. Can Majjam evolve?
Absolutely, the Game is currently under development and may evolve with each Playtests to its public version.
Please read the ToS for more information about Majjam’s evolution.
Testing, functions, features, content, and various data performed or provided in connection with the Playtest are still in development and may differ from the public version of the Game or from any subsequent version of the Game. We make no commitment regarding features, functions, content, or data in any subsequently released version of the Game.
5. What should I do in exchange of my participation to a playtest?
5.1. Feedback and suggestions
We are organizing Playtests to gather Feedback from you and others on the Game to assist us in its ongoing development.
Feedback is not mandatory. If you agree to give us your Feedback, you agree to provide us with honest responses. These requests may include for instance, questions about your level of interest in the Game or any technical bugs or inconsistencies present in the Game.
Please read the ToS to learn more about what we can do with your Feedback.
5.2. Supplementary agreements
You also agree to enter into any non-disclosure agreement, Playtest agreement or other document that we send you. If you refuse, you may not participate in the Playtests.
6. Am I allowed to share elements about the Game?
Please read carefully the article dedicated to intellectual property rights in the ToS.
With regard to fan art and streaming game sessions, you undertake to mention clearly when sharing that the elements shared come from a Playtest and that they do not reflect the final experience and quality of the Game.
7. What is Opus Major liability?
As provided in the Article 7 of the ToS about liability, the Game (including Playtest content) is provided to you “as is”.
You acknowledge that the Game is currently under development and testing by us. Accordingly, the Parties acknowledge that the Game likely contains “bugs” and other errors that could adversely affect its use or performance. You also acknowledge that you should take extra care in preserving its pre-existing data on your device in order to avoid any loss of data as a result of downloading and accessing the Game during Playtest.
Please also note that your game progress, status or value indicator and data associated with the Playtest may be deleted at any time.
By derogation to the article of the ToS regarding availability and security, provided that you are playing a Playtest, we will have no responsibility whatsoever to:
- ensure the availability and smooth running of the Game;
- ensure the transmission of data to and from the Game;
- avoid any loss of data hosted by us;
- resolve any malfunctions, errors and bugs as quickly as possible.
